WHO WE ARE

We are the “Association of IUB Alumni” which was formed with the vision and purpose of bringing all graduates of IUB together, under one umbrella. Our mission is to strengthen the bond among the IUB family and most importantly, to stand by each other and promote the general welfare of the association.

It is quite imperative to mention the initiative and contribution of our respected and beloved faculty, Mr. Almas Kabir, to form the association. Only his sincere inducement has ignited the Alumni to form an association for an overall benefit.

The commencement of the ‘Association of IUB Alumni (AIA)’ took place in the year 2001 through a formal election. The official declaration of the formation was announced on August 17, 2001. The election was held at the former IUB campus in Baridhara, Road # 13. Two panels ran for the election, which carried 11 candidates each. The winning panelwas led by Mr. Showkat Aziz Russell, as President of the association.

With the gracious presence of the then honorable Vice Chancellor Mr. Prof. Bazlul Mobin Chowdhury and whole-hearted support of certain very important people it was made possible to carry out the election smoothly. We are ever grateful to the then Deputy Registrar Mr. Almas Kabir, Faculties, Dr. Mohammed, Anwar, Mr. Aminur Rahman and Mr. Soleman Mozammel from School of Business, Registrar Mrs. Yasmeen Mahmud,Deputy Director, DOSA Mr. Kazi Faruque Ahmed.
